Hello all

I just registered, and found that this must be the correct forum for me. I just bought Waverterminal 192M with a small card called MI/ODI/O. Additionally I have a very old keyboard (Yamaha PSR 60) and two old guitars (classical and electric).
I am testing out on NUENDO, but I hear that people say SONAR might be a better choise ? Or should I choose some other software for a starter ?

ALSO I am totally confused on all the words and phrases etc.
I have bought some Computer Music magazines, but as a beginner I only get confused.

I want to buy a microphone for recording vocals and from my classical gutiar. What shoudl I choose ?

Can I connect my el-guitar directly into the Waverterminal breakout box (I don't have an amp)

Where can I get books to learn all this from the beginning ?

Your advise / HELP woud be appreciated.

THANKS

This website, the part before you get to the BBS, has lots and lots of information you are looking for, and it is written very well, so it should help you understand more. Go back to the home page, and read and follow all of the explanitory links. that should give you a better understanding, and allow you to ask better questions on the BBS Forum..

Asking ME what mike YOU should buy is like asking me what kind of car you should drive....need more info!!!!

all of the information on the pages should help to give you a basic understanding.

good luck

Thanks for your reply radiorickm !

Yes, it was pretty stupid question. But reading all the alternatives for just buying a mike confuses me.

ANYWAY; I dropped the mike and I bought a Behringer V-AMP2 instead.

Maybe someone can help me to get some sound out of it through the breakoutbox, and recording in Nuendo ?

I use PC.

Best regards
TJ

The Land of Moderators, because those who wish to be mediators between two resolute thinkers are marked as mediocre: they lack eyes to see the unparalleled; seeing things as similar and making them the same is the mark of weak eyes.

Regarding software, sounds like you already have Nuedo to play with. I would suggest downloading the trial version of Sonar. I did it, and wound up choosing to buy it. I like it very much.

Hello everybody

Thanks for all helpful answers. Much nice reading.

One technical question though for those of u who know Nuendo.

How can I listen to what I am recording ?

With el-guitar I'm recording through a Waveterminal 192M card with MI/ODI/O card, and using Behringer's V-Amp2

Using PC

Thanks in advance !!!
