I am using HomeStudio 2004XL.

I tend to use the Staff view to program my MIDI instruments. I don't mind plugging in the individual notes. but.....Is there a way to preset the default Note Volume?

Also, is there a way to change a group or selection of Note Volumes at one time without having to change every individual Note Volume one by one? Or is there a way to step up Note Volumes in a song by x.(i.e. Increase all Note Volumes by 10 or 15)?

Thanks for your help in this.

1) The Piano Roll is much easier to use. And you can edit velocities directly in it.

2) Select all the notes. Right-Click (but not on a note) and select Midi Effects -> Cakewalk -> Velocities.

Insert single note in staff view. Right click on it, and you'll see velocity set to 100 by default. Change to say... 70. Click ok. Next note you insert will have velocity 70... :) Otherwise, if you follow moskus' way, you can do the same procedure using Piano Roll view.

Hey, can you just lower the track's volume from Track View? :D
