I was watching a few of this guys videos, and even though I find it obnoxiously awesome, what exactly is it?

Im assuming it is trying to make the most abstract sounds from whatever you can find, and try to make them come together and sound sweet. But I have a feeling there is more to it.
Anyone care to share some info?

Musique concrète, although with a video component I guess they'll be turning that genre on its ear.
