Not sure if my 424 died on me or not?

I was recording earlier, and mind you, I have hardly used it since I bought it off of CL about three months ago, and it simply just turned off. It will turn back on but I have to unplug the 12v power adapter and then just plug it back in. The process simply continues and it turns back off in about two minutes.

So my question is, is this my actual 424 that is dying or does the power adapter need to be replaced? I'm 90% sure that I can just buy another adapter online and everything will be fine, but I wanted some extra opinions.

Is it the factory power supply? If not, check the voltage and amperage to see if there is some sort of mismatch. It's ok to have more amps than required, but not having enough is a problem.
