So I have read up on tons of tricks recording acoustic guitar (close mic on 12th fret, far away one, etc.). I have never actually recorded acoustic guitar, and when I get my guy in to work on my album, I really won't have time to fiddle around much, so here's my question.

So I have four microphones that I think would be good for acoustic recording, they are:

2x RODE NT2a
1x Naiant XT
1x Cascade Fat Head II w/ Lundhaul Transformer

I am thinking having the Naiant close on the 12th fret with maybe the Fat head further away to capture the whole sound. Any other ideas?

You'd have a helluva time trying to get a vertical XY out of those NT2's, but if you have the right stands, it'd be worth a shot. Add the FH on the lower quarter of the board. Split the pair and HPF at 150 or so, center and LPF the FH.

if you had another Fat Head you could track Blumlein

Maybe the Nt2 and Fat Head as M/S
