This isn't pertaining to recording, but I just hadda get this out to see what others are thinking. I went to the Powerhouse concert last night in Philly with Jay-Z (comp luxury box!!!) and it was incredible... The Lox, Diddy, Jay and... Nas! My head nearly exploded. I've been hearing rumors lately about Nas and Jay squashing their beef and read an interview, but this came out of left field. I guess they did the same shit in Jersey the night before. Regardless, this was insane to me. Hip-Hop history no doubt. What are your opinions on this? Do ya think a Nas/Jay album or track could be in the works? Even if it was a one time thing, it was crazy hot.

i'm currently getting bitched at on another forum for saying i dont care a whole lot.
it's cool. if i saw it live, i would have been thrilled.
but i saw reporters saying this is the type of shit you tell your grandkids about.
???
nope, not that serious to me.
cool though.

Hell Yeah!!!!!

That right there is what hip hop needs right NOW!! Im talkin A.S.A.P., man that is history in the making and yeah you do tell your grand kids about ish like that.

Man thats like Cool Mo Dee and Busy Bee, *forgive me if i get it wrong, my mind is still tryin to grasp this knowledge*.

Dog, you don't understand, that is how hip hop starts to change and the wheels of musical motion start to move peoples minds into different directions along with the culture actually starting to grow.

You Are gonna Have to Edit the next post*just lettin you know in advance*

im kinda psyched about it myself -- although i dont think that too mluch is gonna "change" in hip hop -- there will def. be some new (and probably incredible) songs from def jam b/c of it, but still -- bullshit hip hop is here to stay!!!!!

I hope that Jiggaman and Nasty destroy 50; for them, it'll be like a fat guy sitting on a fly.

I think any positive step is a good one! Urban youths are extrememly influenced by Hiphop. This may turn some young cat in another direction by showing them another way of dealing with their beefs.....By squashing them!!!
Now, that's Gangsta!

I don't think they'll go after 50. Jigga will tell Nas to drop that beef. Jigga and 50 beefin' right now might be bad for biz for them since they both have shared endorsements with Reebok. I could actually see Jigga getting Nas some endorsements of his own.

Nas endorsements would be nice-those shoes tend to come out well.

Obviously, I'm far from a 50 Cent fan but I own a pair of Reebok G6es because they're extremely comfortable (although I'm probably gonna get them customized so that they don't say G Unit)

However, Nas did say, in an interview with MTV:

MTV: You got a record on the streets right now called "Don't Body Yourself." We all know the last verse is for 50 and everyone knows it's only a matter of time before you drop an "Ether"-like record for him.

Nas: Yeah. You know what's the crazy thing about it? I've had times of missing 50. I brought him with me on tour before. He used to open up for me. I showed him his first Bentley. I showed him his first big diamonds in person — he ain't know nobody who had real diamonds the size I had. I showed him all that. So I kind of miss the cat from time to time. I would like to know what it is to sit down and talk to him, see what's on his mind. Because all he's showing is that when you get rich, you get angry at the world. And that's not what's it's supposed to be about. I would love to really sit down with him. But on the rap side, we got things to finish. We got business — we got unfinished business.

It would be fun (literally) if the 'unfinished business' came in the form of another Ether; there's so much there that Nas could utilize.

Truth be known....Hov and Nas squashing beef could cause a 50/Jigga beef too. 50 lets his emotions get in the way of doing good business, and he carries a grudge. Now if Ja was behind him getting stabbed, then yeah I'd carry a grudge too...I'd probably risk fed time to see him disposed of. I mean, he drops Game because he did a track with Nas (or even said he'd be interested in doing it). Nas is legendary, 50 is a fad right now. If he beefs with Jigga and Nas, he's done. He'll lose so much "respect" he'll be looking bitch because both of them would eat him alive.

C'mon, you heard Piggy Bank (weak shit). Crack killed him with "My 44". I still roll with that shit...and I don't even listen to Fat Joe much. Then Jada killed him with "Animal". I think Jada could have done better but shit he didn't need to.

Notice how the only one G-Unit, Shady, or Aftermath will openly diss is Ja. They're not stupid. To go against one is bad enough, but to go up asgainst Hov and Nas? You're either really brave or really stupid if you go that route and you're not on the level Pac was.

And Mr Ethos, to be technical, what do you really know about hip-hop?

LOL, nah I'm just givin' ya a hard time mayne. I saw that sig and I had to say it...just seemed like the perfect time to do so.

One,
Fie.

I posted on my blog ( http://jibran.blogspot.com/ ) about that and how 50 Cent's ridiculous 'guilt by association' strategy is going to get him screwed- first The Game, then Jadakiss & Fat Joe, then Dre; it is inevitable that everyone in that concert (who're all better than him) will be targeted.
