Not a major problem, but...

A little background info... I have a K62 AMD 500mHz computer with 256mb of RAM. I running WinME. I am using Sonar 2 primarily and SoundForge for the finishing touches.

Ok, now that's out of the way... I have noticed that when I open up a project not all the toolbar buttons show up. Correction, the toolbar buttons are there, they are just invisible until I move the mouse over them then they magically appear. The toolbar with the magical buttons is located right above the track view. (pictured).

This just started happening this past week. I had only 128mb of RAM, thinking that might be the problem, so I went out and bought another 128 megs. Problem still remains. My songs normally have anywhere from 15 - 20 or so audio tracks. As I stated, it's not a major problem, but I don't want this to be a precursor to something worse... Any ideas?

It could be due to the fact that you do not have enough memory as well as a incompatability between your video card and motherboard chipset. What card do you have?

Also, Sonar 2 shoudn't really be run on anything less than Windows 2000 or XP...

Have you tried looking for updated video drivers for your video card. When you say they just appear, I assume that the toolbar is grey until you move your mouse over it and then the icon shows up. If it's just a matter of a button showing up when you move the mouse over a button on the toolbar, it's supposed to be that way.

TNT Riva 16mb vid card and a DFI mobo. These two have been working together without a hitch. I keep the drivers updated. As I stated, I just moved up to 256mb RAM. I'm not sure what memory I don't have enough of. If there was an incompatibility wouldn't that have presented itself prior to now. Sonar has been running for months without a problem. Other than the fact that I can't have too many audio tracks and plug-ins running at the same time, the system actually does exactly what it is supposed to do. I'm still puzzled. Yes, eventually, I will make the move to upgrade. Life keeps getting in the way of that. I'll survive. I'm just curious...
