Normal tape on fast player?

Alright, I'm upgrading very soon from 424MKIII to a 688...problem is, a lot of my recordings are normal speed, and I believe the 688 only has one speed...high speed. Is anyone familiar with both the units, and could suggest something I can do so I do not lose my recordings...is there any hope! Please say yes!
 
If you're going to have possession of both machines at the same time you could transfer the tracks from the old unit to the new one. Of course if you're trading in the old one on the new one that idea won't fly.
 
Buy a used Porta 1 on ebay. Not nearly as expensive as the 424,Watch and wait, You should find one for around 100.00. Runs at 1 7/8 speed,has diret outs so you can use that great mixer in the 688, and you gain a portable 4 track for your travels
 
Thanks for the advice, I was thinking of eventually getting a smaller recorder like that for ideas and quick recording and such...what are the main differences between the Porta 01 and Porta 02?
 
Porta 1 can be powered by an adapter or batteries. Other than that I don't know
