I knwo these mics are used alot, and I've seen them used on guitar amps and such, but I'm wondering what type of mic this flat styled one is and examples of ones I could buy.

that looks like a picture, loosely based on a reslo ribbon or something like that.

there's a plethora of modern chinese ribbon mics flooding the market at the minute.

have a google, or a search on the forums to find out what people think (i've never used one)

gd luck.

this is what i thought of

but as soon as you guys mentioned the sennys i thought, yehp..that makes more sense.

it's a reslo(sound) ribbon,

i'm surprised you don't know it, given that it's definitely an amazing mic that everyone should own. As used by the beatles!!

All of the above comes from ebay seller descriptions :laughings::laughings:

they sell for daft money on there, i guess cos of the look or the history. every review i've read says if you find one it'll be broken! and if it's not broken it'll be crap anyways :P

never used one myself though.

Very Cool stuff there paul!
When it come to any gear that cost daft money...... I don't usually try to look at that glass ceiling.
But I do remember the microphone by sight. as in like that picture you posted a reslo posing with John Lennon.

lol.nice!

when i say daft, i mean, affordable, but apparently not worth it.

they used to sell for £30 or £40, but it seems there's hype around them now.

some joker on ebay wants £425 for his?!??!
