Non-drummer with question.

I own a studio which up until now has been used for acoustic music exclusively.

However, I'm starting to get inquiries from bands who use electric instruments and drums

I'm thinking I would like to have a set of drums available which can live in the studio and can stay miced up.

Is it possible to make a budget set of drums sound good for recording by utilizing good heads and proper tuning?

Thanks!

I just got through trying to keep a "studio set".

Since I'm not really a drummer, I didn't use it as much as I thought I would. It was good to test different mics with, but as far as recording bands, they usually want to use their own set anyway, no matter how crap it is.

Thanks for the reply.

And your response pretty much told me what I need to know.

I run into this constantly with upright bass players. :(

Thanks again!
