Ever since I got a new Audiophile 2496. I've noticed that my JV1010 is very noisy. Have I shorted something or does anyone else notice a LOT of noise from their module? If I did fry something, what should I replace?

I am using a JV1010 with Audiophile2496... not noisy at all... have you check the cables?

The 1010 is probably the noisiest model of the JV series. Roland used cheaper DACs than on the JV1080 or 2080. Not sure what could be done if the synth is the source rather than the cables.

Maybe you don't have the monitoring chain to notice?

That is true, but Roland representatives would hate to hear that ;)

They pride in utmost fidelity of Roland's output.

Anyone remembers S770? Now, that was noise free beauty (among digital brotherhood)

FYI, and I'm sure you know this already, but if any metal comes into contact with a JV1010 it causes hiss/hum. My other modules don't have this problem. I mount my two JV1010's in the rack with velcro including strips of two inch soft velcro on the sides of the units and they are quiet as can be.
