Suck 'em and see!
My Asus P4C 800-E went tits up a few weeks back. I wanted to replace it with the same mobo but time was short and I needed something fast. I picked up a 2nd hand intel desktop board, the exaxt model escapes me but it had all the same feachers and the same chipset.

Since getting everything hooked back up I've noticed excessive noise when graphics are being drawn on screen, noise from mouse moves noise when windows open and close. It's really noticable.

Could it be the mobo, or something else? Any quick known fixes for this kind of thing?

The Graphics card is a Matrox G450 dual head...had it in my daw for 3 years and never had a problem like this.

It was this mobo..

Intel D875PBZ 875p skt 478 pentium 4

Wow, that is a old graphics card I remember the one I had in 2002  might be time to upgrade cause I had the same problem in 2004, new graphics card= no noise.....;)

Yeah, sounds like you're getting classic interference seen with older cards. AGP cards are so inexpensive now, even if you weren't getting noise, there'd be no reason NOT to get one

Edit: also, just to be sure, the sound is coming from your speakers, right?

yeah the noise is coming from speakers and the headphones
