Noise Reduction in CEP 2.0

Greetings -

I have been using CEP 2.0 longer than I can remember; but I was wondering if there was ANY more SPECIFIC forum JUST for discussion on noise reduction on CEP for vinyl and audio-cassettes ... (?)

try Here

use search, including archive search . . .

have never done much vinyl to digital migration but there are a number of well informed and typically helpful individuals on the forum (as well as at least a couple of pro's (vinyl2digital))

good luck

You will find some experts on AudioMasters forum but i suspect the reply will (understandably) be to upgrade to AA3's superior noise reduction capability.

while NR is something I have always only done sparingly, and typically not on vinyl2digital transfers . . . larger trying to improve playback of old live shows from tape, etc.

and I have not qualms about suggesting that overall AA 3 is an actual improvement, by and large, over earlier versions

but as there is no upgrade path any more from CEP and cost is now $349 whether the cost/benefit fits depends a great deal on what OPs needs are

and reviewing the NR for vinyl archives can reveal info on a whole of host of issues . . . prior to AA 3 CEP 2 was one of best tools for vinyl transfer to digital

plus there should be individuals on the forum familiar with both current and earlier versions whose opinion concerning benefits of upgrade (vs. cost) should be valuable and honest

Frequency space editing makes a lot of clean up tasks significantly easier, quicker, nicer . . .

Many Thanks ..

My humble apologies for this late response .. VERY interesting replies .. for which .. MUCH thanks .. I do however continue my quest for a more specialised "Noise Reduction For Dummies" forum ..

did you review NR vinyl2digital on the suggested forum?

if you did, I'm not quite sure what you are asking for?

useful info is spread out over a number of posts in a number of threads, but so would it be in any specific NR4dummies forum

point of suggesting audiomasters forum was that signal2noise ratio is relatively high. information of questionable veracity is seldom allowed to stand uncontested

Audition is used by a number of people who actually get paid for 'cleaning up' old recordings and while there are always debates about what works better, as I said S/N is relatively high

if you reviewed info on suggested forum and didn't find what you were looking, if you could refine your inquiry I might be able to refine the response

if you didn't search suggested forum, well, tried to help you said 'no' so you can imagine what the next response will be
