One Hit Wonder
I have a Delta 1010 that I've had for about 3 years. This last week all of a sudden when I turn on my computer, it has begun to make noise. Something like a low hum, but a bit more annoying than just a hum, and fairly loud. Almost like a loose ground connection or something.
The problem starts immediately when I turn on the computer, and then gets louder once it has fully booted into Windows. Then a few minutes later it starts to get softer and finally goes away completely. It stays away until I turn off the computer again.
I'm pretty sure it's the Delta. I have the outs going to a mixer, and with the mixer on and the speakers on, I don't get any noise. Only when I turn on the computer.
I tried moving the PCI slot the card is in, and no change.
Anyone run into this before? Is it a sign the card is starting to go bad? Any suggestions?
I am assuming that it goes away once the components have heated up a little. Does that make any sense?
Thanks
