Y not?

Clarinet is my main instrument. WW ppl have no place to go and talk about WW issues and recording.

My daughter plays clarinet. What do you want to know? Keep in mind you can always start your own blog or BBS. Check out Google Blogger or WordPress.

I find it hard to believe there is not a discussion forum for musicians on the Internet yet. Would anyone like to make a wager?

Funny you should bring this up. I have a friend (been friends for 35 years) visiting and recording with me for the next few months. In addition to his tenor sax and flute he brought a really nice clarinet. I mean really nice - over 100 years old wooden one that sounds super mellow and fat. I've never heard one that sounded this good - it's got the EVH "brown" sound!

So I will most likely be recording some clarinet this month. :)

Sounds like fun. Nice change of pace and all. :)
Ah.. silly me; 'EVH', as in Eddie Van...? :o :confused:

Hey, off topic (but maybe not so now..:p
I heard this local chap Doug James of the Hucklebucks' do trombone' (unintentional per my mentioning it to him), on his strat and some crunchy little brown toned tube amp. The attack, decay, tone.. all but 'mouth piece air. WTF! :confused:
They're coming in here soon, you can damn bet I'll be campaigning' :) to explore and capitalize as a variety angle for their tracks. :p

:eek::eek::eek:

Now, now folks....
I'm more of a redouche.

Interestingly, I've been recording with clarinets for 18 years. In fact, I was playing with a clarinetist before I actually got round to recording. Even wrote a tune with one of the players. And when my mate, who's a clarinetist, gets back from Uni, I plan to get great mileage out of his windy talents. Mind you, my fave wind instruments are the flute and bassoon.
