I've just mastered a doz. tunes in Cubase and exported to a folder on my desktop as wav. files. I burnt them to cd and everything shows correct even media player shows that the tunes are playing but I hear nothing on the laptop. I took the cd showing the files out to the car and heard nothing. I opened Cubase back up and brought up an old cpr file and I hear nothing on playback. Scary whats going on? Please help.

Do the wav files you originally exported play on WMP? If not it's something in your Cubase settings like mute or something...

They show as playing in wmp but I hear nothing. Where in Cubase could I have hit a mute that would mute every file?

If you are in the mixer view, you can mute the stereo out, and that will mute all the tracks. If you have the stereo out selected, pressing 'm' will mute it/ and all the rest. You would see the yellow M on all the tracks.

They now play in wmp so I can monitor them. I had the mute on. Big dummy I know. But now the cds will not play on the car stereo. I thought wav files would play on car stereos? Right. This might be a burning through wmp issue.

wav files by themselves usually don't play in car stereos - you need to burn an audio CD. I think some of the more modern car players will play mp3 though.
