running win 98 with magix rec software..was fine till today..now i have no playback sound when i go to record the 2nd track..is it possible my soundcard went bad? any suggestions? THANKS ROY

with out more info...i would just say re-install your software and drivers.

in samplitude (should be the same) when you right click on the rec symbol in your transport bar you can choose 'playback while recording' in your record options. tried that already?

Have you tried playing music or sounds you have and do they work?
Have you checked all the cables - into your card, out of your card, into your speakers, etc.
Did you check the software settings (volume, ensure you have selected the correct card).
Are your speakers on?
