No sound on input! Help!

I just upgraded my computer to Win XP from Me.
Now, I open tracks in CEP and they play fine.
But when I mic something, it effects the meters - but no audio!!
What's going on here? I can record on Vegas fine...

check in the windows control if recording is set for mic-in or line-in and set to which ever which one u record through

Ok. It happened again. How do I do that?

go back to the windows settings and see if it changed back to it or something
