I recently purchased a fast track pro from M Audio. It sends a signal to my computer, but sound does not come out of my monitors (hooked up to the computer) while playing instruments through it, although the sounds are recorded and can be heard when a recording is played back. I've also tried hooking the fast track directly to the monitors, but still get no sound. Any ideas?

I do not own one, but I looked it up and it looks like you should have your monitors hooked up to the box through the TRS output jacks. I think from reading your post you said you did that. But after you hook them through the outs make sure you go into control panel on your computer then to sound devices and make sure the fast track pro is selected for yours INS and OUTS.

... OH actually I just found a HIGH Resolution picture of the box and I see on the front it has the "mix" knob which allows you to choose whether you want your ins to be monitored or your playback to be monitored.

while recording, turn that knob all the way to the left and you should hear anything that is plugged into the box.

Thanks!

That did it! Thanks Nick, you truly are the man.

Hey! Sorry to butt in here, but how do you like your Fast Track Pro? Did anyone hear about these not working with XP and service Pack #3?

That's what I'm using - Windows XP Service Pack 3 - and everything seems to work pretty well. I had to go through and adjust everything manually in the control panel, but other than that, and my static issue, no problems.
