Ok so i have a laptop with Realtek HD audio drivers but for some reason my drivers got messed up and stopped making sounds

so i bought an Alesis Multimix 8 USB1.0, hooked it up with my computer with usb and i was able to get sound again only through this mixer

i have cooledit 2.1, Adobe audition, and cubase 4 le
but i can only hear sound and record on cooledit 2.1 and not on Audition and Cubase it always says that recording is impossible because my sound driver isn't working

is there any way i can make my mixer work with these softwares?

First, try to repair your Realtek then it's always an option for playback.
I'll presume you've tried the repair options through your device manager so have a go at this.
Uninstall your Realtek driver, shut down and reboot your computer.
It should start looking for the driver by itself.

or..

Well, the fact that your interface works in one of those programs, makes me think that the interface isn't the problem- Are you sure you have the settings configured correctly for the other 2 programs- do you have the correct device seleted? Correct inputs selected? Also, keep in mind that alot of drivers /programs wont allow access to the interface when another program is already using it... so, if you open CoolEdit and it works... then try to close Cool Edit, then open the next software.
