No output VST connection in cubase LE 5

So I'm using the Akai Professional EIE audio interface along with Cubase LE 5 and I'm major and consistent issues with the output, Cubase just cannot find the output. I've had the problem on and off, I got the issue fixed through the marketer originally but after a few days o working it decided to not want to find the output. I've done all the basic troubleshooting so spar me the time I've come to the conclusion it's been issues with the driver. I've uninstalled and re-installed it as well as removing the interface from devices and letting it re-configure. I still can't figure out why my output will not work please help D:

Have you made sure to download and use the latest driver from HERE?

What OS are you using?

There is also a firmware update available there too.
