we don't need rest!!
this site has lost a major impact on me without a new Samicide song every week:(

I want my Samicide... (sung like "I want my MTV")

all-e-all-e outs in free..... calling bsabbath...calling bsabbath

"can you hear me now?...can you hear me now?"

btw...this is an official request, or at least asking for some kind of exceptable explanation... you're under close scruntiny, young man...
;)

I mean...what's it take... a couple, three hours for you to "whip" out something? You're like the pusher man..... you get us all addicted,...then just "take it away,".....

oh well... I guess I'll just have to stay majorly depressed, because of you sammy... just remember that.

I think it has a lot to do with the new apartment he moved into a few months ago.

well...that's a bullshit reason... moving... I can't accept that. I mean if he ran out of pot or sumpin?? well....:D

(Speaking of sam... PM'ed him... he'd be around more, but 1) his stuff always seems to need vocals & he can't really record vocs right now... so it would be more instrumentals... 2) His MP3 player makes everything sound like s*** so he doesn't usually comment...)

Sheesh... I'm beginning to wonder if you guys read any posts at all  :)

And yes.... it would be good to have more "Samicide".

Agreed. I have Gossip Machines on high rotation in winamp

too funny! I wasn't going to respond because I was too embarrassed.. thanks.

I have been going through a musical rut lately.. My previous apartment was a hell hole, and I had punks hanging right outside my door on an almost daily basis.. When I say punks, I mean 18 and 20 year old kids that act like they're Eminem.. the pictures on my wall would shake from the car stereos.. sometimes for hours on end.. I had to record more to drown out the voices..

Now in this new place, there is natural sunlight and dead silence.. It's almost too quiet now.. If I crank things up, I know I'll be heard, even though they said it was cool, I don't want anyone hearing me lay vocal tracks.. Since I haven't been able to do vocals, I found myself not wanting to record as much because most of my songs were done all at once.. I would start on a Friday night and finish on Saturday or something like that..

Anyway, I may have found a solution.. I'll just record quietly and lay vocal tracks at a rehearsal studio.. I can just bring my tascam and a mic, and then spruce it up when I get home.. I'm also still trying to get comfy with my new surroundings.. I may try to bang out a little instrumental today..

thanks for the post! :D I got a nice little chuckle out of it!

I know what you mean dude. I had to get out of my last apartment because there's nothing more awkward than knowng someone outside is hearing you work out your vocal problems. You need to find a soundproofing solution then. Let nothing stand in your way.

Got a closet? And a sledgehammer? :D

Bye-bye shelves, hello vocal booth! ;)

Well, Sam, two things - although the old place was crappy in some ways, a lot of very good music came out of it.

So second, if the new place inhibits you from singing, then move back into the old place.

The man is brilliant.

"The man is brilliant."

To which man do you refer? :D

What I really want him to do is start singing. But if he can't do that in his new place, then the new place isn't worth the rent now, is it? (Speaking entirely from my own point of view, you understand.)

Just cuz it's clear as hell don't mean it's easy...

I think he listened to one of my tunz, and it broke his ears.

Both. You for your powers of observation and interpretation and Sam for his ability to provide us with something interesting to observe and interpret. :)

Nothing like croaking a dozen botched vocal takes and then seeing your roomates try to hide their amusement.

I thought i was the only one who had this problem. The people upstairs placed a boom box facing down into the floor above my room the last time i tried to lay vocal tracks, they thought I was yelling to complain about the noise they make so they 'retaliated'. I had to go up and explain to them i was recording and not raving angry :o

Back to Sam tho, i still get misty eyed every evening with a glass of chardonnay listening to his beautiful pean of loveliness to his daddy on father's day. Awwwwwwww.

you know what's funny? When I finally sent my father the song, he didn't like it.. neither did my mom. It was mainly because of the EBow I think..

My dad has an old school New York attitude, and he was like ---> quote 'What the hell is that noise? It doesn't sound like the same guitar!'

He couldn't make sense out of the sound of the EBow.. I should have left it out or replaced it with flutes or something..

He also said something else.....

"smarten up and get off the pot!"
