No MIDI Instruments!!!

Hi all,

New to cubase, really dumb question, I dont seem to have any MIDI instruments loaded in Cubase. When I select a MIDI channel, the 'Instruments' box is empty, I can acess MIDI instruments in any other MIDI programs. Any ideas???

Help me understand what you men by midi instruments. if you are looking for your VST instruments, you are looking in the wrong place.

VST intruments: Panels>VST Instruments

turn on the instrument then select the VST instrument in your output window.

As for midi instruments, I'm pretty sure that you can setup external midi instruments using the "setup instrument" function.

When i click on a MIDI chanell no instruments appear in the instruments box in the inspector. My problem is I have imported a MIDI drum track into Cubase but the drum sound is horrible, how can i change the MIDI drum track to say a 'Room Kit' or 'Jazz Kit' ? Can I do this simply via MIDI within Cubase, or can I apply a VST Instrument (drums) to the existing MIDI track???
