I'm using Sonar.....I've got one midi track, and when I do a final mix down, that midi track is gone.....what do I have to do to have it in the mix down??

You have to re-record the MIDI file as an audio file in order for it to be included in the mixdown.

So first, mute all the tracks but the MIDI track, then go to your soundcard's mixer window (the speaker icon at the bottom right of your screen) and go to the recording options (where you choose mic/line in etc...) and set it to "stereo mixer".

Then back in your recording program, arm a new track for recording and hit record. Then while the MIDI track plays, it should be recording it as audio to the new track.

Then once you have it recorded as audio, unmute your other tracks and mute the MIDI track and then adjust your levels again (if the audio track is quiter than the MIDI track was). Now when you do your mixdown, the "audio-MIDI" track will be included.

Hope that helps. :)

Or use a DXi to playback the midi track. With a DXi, the midi will be included in the mixdown, no need to record it to audio.

And why isn't this in the Cakewalk forum??
