No lube was use when I bought my Ampeg it turns out, they just crammed it in my A** (anal cavity) dry.
I talked to a tech at Ampeg, they confirmed it;
It comes stock with GE 676 tubes, mine didn't. (And yes, they claimed it was new). Mine had Sovtek 5881's.
I suddenly feel much better about not supporting my local music stores, by buying everything mail order...
