we don't need rest!!
I have been a posting slacker...

6 month nephew came over, laid down HIS track...I added mine. (he went to bed, I had to finish up with headphones and no mics)

in the vain of "Emeric Sunday ditties"... nothing complex..straight up fun.

hhmmm ...need a new drum machine from Musicians Friend....

:D

ok...I lied.... I did use one mic... BUT, it was a cheap one. a 57...on the lad.

your nephew is a star.. cool ditty! The guitar sounds different than usual.. better, but I heard some minor crackle.. I'll give it a spin through monitors tonight, but I wanted to sneak a quick listen in before work.. cool riff.. synth voices are always cool.. the scary sound mixed with the crying at the end envoked some dark imagery.. How were you making that noise?

What can I say about this...You plugged in everything real good, man?

This is LOTS of fun!:D

Great synth texture on intro.

Very EXCELLENT time signature deception with the opening guitar statement.

My foot didn't stop once the traps kicked in!

I could use more lead between :50 - :57..........no screw that, I need more thru-out the whole tune! 1-2 db @ least. Nice licks and bends! They're to good to get buried ocassionally.

Pitch shift on the lad's cry @ the end is beautifully twisted!
 It even scared the shit outta my dog! Well, I cheated, (I put the cans on his sleeping ass lazy head.:D My favorite sounds @ 3:03 & 3:04 must be his too, as he turned around & checked his own ass!!!!!

Look forward to the mix if ya do one.
Ralph

I dug that greesy guitar sound! Wasn't expecting it. Thought it was gonna be a synth piece, which you do well too. I even don't mind the drum sounds believe it or not. Hope that doesn't mean my ears suck.

Tight guitar playng...you're a helluva player.

I think the baby cries could use about 20 decible cut out of the 2-4K range...but then...I've never really done well with baby cries. Maybe if I have my own some day it wouldn't be such a brain dart. :)

I wonder when we get to hear Guernica's new baby boy. Maybe they can get together for a duet or something.

Anyway, cool riffs man. My preference would have been a little less flange, but I liked it as is too.

There's some kind of distortion/crackle goin' on in certain places.. (starts at 0:22). I think it has something to do with your tom samples.

Thought the synth "aaaahs" were to loud and the lead git was too soft.

other than than... nice mix.

what's up with the whales humping at the end...???

:D

Great little jam! I dug that you used your nephew on this. Added a nice touch!

The drums sounded like they could use a boost in the mix on my end. Everything else sounded great!

Got some crazy stuff on the end there...

:D

Am I right in saying that the sound at the end is the crying like slowed down LOADS, yeah?

175th post. Hooray for me :D

Shame on you! This is pretty cool stuff.

The 'verb at the beginning has a nasty tail, guitars are a bit brittle, and the drums a bit muddy.

But then you knew that already, didn't you? ;)

Nice riffin" there, dude.

Post more tunes!:)

that was a good presentation. I`m really fond of that type of guitar playing as well. The drums were fine and didnt interupt the flow of the song although seemed kinda low in volume for that piece. A few more simple accents would be nice. The keys were wholesome and clean. The sound effects were seamless. I didnt mind the verb sound at all.
Best of all, the holes were some of the deepest and noisefree I`ve heard on here. My cheap gear has a noise wall in the background, not really distinguishable, but still back there. yours seemed to allow silence to go to infinity.

This a great sound! everything fit very well. Really captures the genre IMHO. I agree with bring the guitars up a bit and it will be perfect, minus some of the strange groaning at the end!:D  :) :D

Peace
Bill

Haha,that was cool Chris.!
Really nice rythym sound on the guitars, great lead playing as always.
And some sweet synth too.

I think at the end,you really captured the essence of what it feels like to be stuck in a room with a screaming child for any length of time.
I just hope Guernica dosn't hear this,he'll probably lose it!:D

You gotta love em though!:)

Cool stuff,
Pete

sabb....thanks for being the first ... I think there maybe some crackle, as I had it cranked in the headphones for the entire project... The "whales" that were alluded to, were massive pitch change on the lad..

twist... chewbaca!!... thanks for the listen. Yeah..I hear chewbaca now....

chrisharris... yeah..pluggin in can be tuff...eh?...good cords, etc!

flat9... I see you noticed the pitch change right off.... the song didn't make it into the 3 min mark, which has me a little confused with your comment. I used VBR on encoding...and that screws the time on the readout on my windows media player...probably the same effect on your end. I actually wanted more leads, but found I was just cluttering, I thought... thanks for the comments. You do some great stuff from the clips I have heard.

slucie... greesy gtr... love it!...kinda low strapped stuff, eh?? "brain dart"...ok...I know you stole that from samicide...but a good term, none the less.. thanks for the listen... as I am learning from you at this point.

watyf... yeah...whales..I hear it now... but not when I pitch changed and listened. I think there is some crackle too..kinda covered by the really fuzzy gtr.

boydrj...yeah..just a jammie... but thought I'd post. Jams are all I can come up with at this point, it seems..

canopus.. if the kid was laughing...would it not be so dark??;) congrats on 175...keep going!!

mbrane. I've come to realize you have a good set of ears. the reverb is my alesis wedge (I have 3 of them!! ) thanks for the kind "riffing comments" !

toki987... thanks for the listen... I like the wedges, actually. they have alot of adjustments. I appreciate the compliments on the dynamics of the tune.

chrisharris... lol!

wfaraoni..... another vote for gtr volume... alright...you made the christmas card list!... groaning?? at the end? I didn't hear any??!!:D

muzeman... thanks pete for stopping by. For some reason, you have been a good [Christian] influence to me, and I appreciate that. "Stuck in a room".... I hear that now too... kinda like the "whale sound"...stuff I personally didn't originally hear, but hear it now that it is pointed out.

thanks all for the comments... I didn't ask for any!!....but you know I like reading them..:)

it wud still SOUND dark, but it would be mentally better, because you think "awww hes laughing" lol

Chris,I hope you didn't think I meant it in a bad way.

It's like that scene from 'Look Who's Talking",
Where she's in labor and turns around and talks like satan.
I thought it was pretty funny!

Anybody that's spent some time in a room with a screaming child can definitly see the humor!:D
