Hi guys,

Thank you all in advance for any help with my issue.

I have an M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB audio/MIDI interface (latest drivers) connected to my computer. I use Cubase 6 for all music production. My MIDI keyboard connected to the Fast Track plays fine in Cubase.

I don't get any audio signal inside Cubase with either a mic or guitar connected, and no signal level at all. I can hear both of them through the headphones connected to the Fast Track and it gives the green light when there is a signal.

I've done the following:

Made sure that the Fast track is recognized and selected as the VST instrument in "Device Setup".

Under "VST System Link" I've tried active and inactive.

I went to "VST Connections" and removed the stereo input and added the Mono input with Fast Track 1. And for output its set at Stereo, also through the fast track.

I've tried phantom power, and making sure the monitor button (speaker) was active inside Cubase.

Under the track options, I've verified that it was set to mono and stereo out.

Thank you again for any help!

Hello mikel33,

Are you on a 64 bit operating system or a 32 bit operating system?
Are you 100% that the drivers that you have installed are the correct bit version?
Have you tried your sound card with any other software, is it working?

Best regards,
GN

I'm on 64bit Windows. I downloaded the 64bit drivers from the site and installed them. The file name is: "Install Auto-Tune 7 64-bit VST v754.exe".

Everything else works fine and has been. It just freezes every time I load a second instance of auto-tune in the same project.

I can hear both of them through the headphones connected to the Fast Track and it gives the green light when there is a signal.
Good start

Made sure that the Fast track is recognized and selected as the VST instrument in "Device Setup".
This doesn't make sense. VST Instruments is for softsynths or virtual instruments, not for assigning an audio interface.

Under "VST System Link" I've tried active and inactive.
You should not be doing anything with VST System Link, that is for connecting another computer.

Try this:

Devices>Device Setup>VST Audio System> Select the Fast Track ASIO driver.
then
Devices>VST Connections>Audio Device column and verify it doesn't say "Not Connected". If it says "Not Connected" click on that box and select your Fast Track.

Then go to your track in question and ensure you have the proper Input selected.

hth,

I see the driver for your interface is called "Install M-Audio FastTrack 6.0.6.exe"
It supports Windows 7 32/64 and even XP and Vista.

I bought Motu interface.
I gave it back, because I was getting a lot of issues and errors.
The one thing, that got me going was to delete Cubase user preference folder. Restart Windows and launch Cuabse again.
Try that... Guide

Thank you for the help guys. My problem has been resolved.

For some reason the "Line in 1" was disabled in the control panel for the Fast Track.
