thank you for the kind words, i did the recording/mixing/mastering for the song!

your balancing is good. the only advice i have is to lay into the compression a bit more.

when i was mixing it, i was trying for that larger than life and intense sound which i got by basically slamming the guts of everything into compressors. it's been a while ago now but i think the vocals for example were hitting almost -20db of gain reduction.

what you've got so far though is a really good balance, it just needs that intensity!!

Okay, I added some more compression to the master and then grouped, compressed and did a slight low-cut on the vocals. What do you think now?

Also, in the name of the track, I added a slight tape-hiss effect to the master, to try and help with the retro feel. It's really far back in there, but thought I'd mention it.

You did do a good job producing the track if you were involved in the recording, mixing, and mastering. Most people can't do that, even if they can play an instrument. It's a different way of thinking about things.

Yeah, those vocals are too far in the back. Everything else is nice and in your face, which may very well be how rhytard wants it?

Also, I personally chose to turn down the hi-hat mic because the overheads did a good job picking it up.

New Mix Vocals Up - interesting I listen to your other tracks - quite a departure from the others except for the last 3 songs- I have to rethink the mix - definitely got the drums more compressed than I choose too.

Well I remixed it - did some vocal tricks and stuff with the guitars, bass and drums - and came up with this one - I listen to the mix on Spotify and thought you did a great job - a lot of compression - but you may be going for that - I really like the tune - good energy and delivery.
