Dude, your spelling/grammar makes it almost impossible to determine what you're asking. Do you read your own posts?

Just... wow, Steveh. fucking pathetic. I can't believe you're supposedly a grown man sitting on this random home recording bbs belittling a new member like a High School jock.

:D

That was such a mean post, I think I'm going to go cry to my Mommy now. Guess I have to go find a more "civil" message board.

not sure about em', but 50 goes for the sony C800G. a true baller would go for nothing less.

and to the poster...proper mic technique and gain staging, along with a properly treated room, will help you out more than any other mic

that being said, the rode would probably sound pretty good

Quality comes from the front of the mic, what goes in, comes out. SM7 works great and keeps proximity down as well as sibilance and the room is less of a factor.

Ah, my bad sir! We get a lot of people who have the capability of speaking perfect English, but choose not to, asking about mic's for rap vocals, and it's hard not to take on a negative attitude towards people that come in to the forums like that.

As for your question, I can mostly only re-iterate what others have said:

- For great-quality vocals (or indeed any sort of instrument), it has to sound amazing in the room first. If you have a not-so-great vocalist, with not-so-great technique, you will, at best, get not-so-great recordings. The best microphone in the world will only pick up the "not-so-greatness" with pristine quality :)

- As for which microphone, there are quite literally hundreds of microphones that can work great for any sort of vocals. I have very little experience with the microphones mentioned in this thread, and little-to-no experience with rap vocals, but I can say that, along with the microphone itself, it would be wise to think of the pre-amp, as well as the interface you're using to record. Both of those elements have a lot to do with the sound you get.

Hope this helps! Again, sorry about my not-so-great response to your thread :)

Its help a little bit..
but i am stil confused about the microphones..

please someone.. ?
i must really have to buy a mic this week..

he might not have the funds for the SM7...i've heard they're ridiculous expensive overseas

and sorry dude, but nobody can really tell you exactly what mic is just right for you. if you can't find a local store that will let you audition mics, maybe you could book an hour or two at a local studio just to try out some of theirs, and see what fits you best. if you tell them that the purpose is just to get a feel for some gear, there's a good chance they might do it for cheap.
