Id go for the deal if that is what you are after...but Id go out and listen to more stuff....if those were the choices you are looking at you really have alot of things to choose in that price range that are a lot better.

Just bought the SE2200T for £160.

Will be picking the SM7b up next

I will probably end up selling my MXL v67g and maybe my Studio Projects B1 aswell.

Will also be getting my Oktava MK-319 modded by JJ Audio.

Should be sorted on the mic front for quite some time then!!

Thanks for the suggestions and info!

What are peoples thoughts on the Audio Technica 4047/SV compared to the Shure SM7b and OktavaMod MK-319?

I should have chimed in on this since I have owned all 3...the AT4047 is the very best mic in the consumer market...even with the TLM102 out there it is the vocal mic to get...the SM7 is a good swiss army mic that will serve you well...I had the Octava...didnt think much of it.

was the oktava modded?

i've a pair of 219s,,,, admittedly i don't think they're amazing,,but they're completely different to all my other mikes, so,,,,useful i guess...

had thought about getting them modded though.....seems like it's very worthwhile?

Don't get a 2200 unless you want more inexpensive sizzle. I don't like that mic at all.

Get the Oktava modded first - definitely . The mic has a lovely capsule and with some modding it can be a downright good mic, period.
Consider getting the V67 modded second.
You will then have two pretty darned good mics.

Keep the B1 - what you get for it will be worth not much more than a decent dinner for two......just keep it as an instrument mic.

Good luck DF.

for a vocal mic in the studio I really like a Mojave MA200....sounds amazing.

If I had to do it all over again my first vocal mic would be the AT 4047

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I have already bought it. Have you tried the 2200T ?

Apparently the new tube model is said to have a smoother top end and a fuller low/mid range.

I will definately be getting the JJ Audio mod for my MK-319 and an SM7b (hopefully a secondhand one will come up in the UK).
