If you don't hear it in the headphones, then it has to be something either in the main output section of the board, which is less likely than it being the cables that go to your amp, your amp, or the wires going to your speakers. Its probably not the wires going to your speakers from the amp, because you wouldnt hear a buzz, you'd hear more of a crackle. My best guess is the cables from your mixer to your amp.

AHA!

I found the culprit, it was one of the cables I used to route the signal with. I unplugged it and the buzz stopped, I tried it in all of the outputs and inputs and it still buzzed, so I used another cable, no noise. I'm thought that cable was the same as the others, but it looks a little different. How can I tell if it's a balanced (XLR) cable?

You are new to this stuff aren't you. If it's a balanced xlr connector, it'll look like this:

Assuming that it is wired correctly, then the cable is balanced. There are also a few different variations to the look of the connector, but it will still have the three-pin formation. It is also possible to have balanced 1/4 cables, which will be 3 conductor, and must also be wired correctly.

Hello......!!! Kettle?? This is Pot.... didja know that you're black???

Wow!

I'm not even using XLR cables!
The outputs on the Digi001 don't accept XLR cables, so I'm using 1/4 cables, I assume they're wired correctly if I bought them from Mars... Right?

Ok, well the digi001 does have balanced capabilities, in the form of 1/4" TRS jacks. Meaning, the three XLR conductors are run through the Tip, Ring, and Sleeve in a quarter inch jack.

Download this wiring guide sheet, and it will show you how to make your own balanced cables. How you do it does depend on what you are going to from the outs on the digi.

Thanks

Would it be possible to make speaker cables from this guide sheet?

Thanks

How would I determine guage when making speaker wire?

Thanks tyler657recpro ! Just what I've been looking for.
