I have been recording on a 4 track for many years and want to make the jump into computer based recording. But I am not real sure what I need to get started. I currently have the following equipment:

Pentium III
128M ram
12 channel mixer
Power amps
Assortment of mics
Several guitar amps
SCSI plextor 8/20 burner

Where should I start? I want to be able to record at least 6 insterments at a time. I will mainly be recording (Guitar, Drums, Voices, Bass, Harmonica, etc.,). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

What size/speed HD?
What've you got for a soundcard?
Aside from that, all you'll need is some multitracking software, a wave editor and some CD burning software. Oh, and an .mp3 encoder so you can share your creations with the Homerecording.com group mind.
