Trailing Behind Again
I've read a lot of the threads on here, but I don't quite see what I am looking for. Most people I see on here are converting an existing space to build a studio, but I want to put up a building. What I am wondering is how much room should I alot for? I know that I will want a separate control room and an isolation booth for vocals, but how much room do I want for the main recording area? I am doing mostly my own recording right how via pc and an mr8, but I intend to start doing this as a paying venture once I get it going (I will take some classes in recording engineering and get a few more years under my belt first). With that thought in mind (never mind the equipment right now), I will probably need enough space to have the versatility to record the band live. So after all that, how much space is enough? What size room should I build that will accomplish that and still be able to make it acoustically viable to record in? Should I build more than one room and have them wired to the control booth? Thoughts?
