Hi all, thx in advance for any comments...
I am doing tons of research before shopping and I'd like you guys to comment on my setup...
Computer: Intel PIII 850, ASUS CUSL2-C, 512 DIMM RAM, cd burner, Soundblaster Platinum 5.1 and ATI Rage Fury graphics (games, dvd)... I know that I need a quality soundcard, and I'll get to that in a minute...
Mackie CFX12, Alesis M1 Actives, Cakewalk, Drag and Drop Drummer, Shure sm57 mic...
I'll be recording guitars and bass, use drum programs, and maybe some keys... My goal is satisfy my HOBBY needs... I don't plan on being Mr. Rock Star...
I've been doing alot of research on soundcards and I think I like the Omni Studio (delta 66, I/O) except for the lack of Midi (I can always take care of that after I get a keyboard with a midi interface).
I've been inspired by a friend who put a DAW together and I'm modeling my system after his, although he only uses a Soundblaster. He uses, and I want to use, Drag and Drop Drummer to build drum tracks in Cakewalk, play some bass over that, and then rip out some geetar over that and make cd's.
Is this possible with my setup? Are there any limitations to the Delta 66 I should know about? Anything else I should know? I plan to get the mixer in the future so I'm hoping the computer, mics, delta and monitors will get me by for now...
Thanks again...
