I have just started trying to convert my old LPs to CD.
I have a new Audigy2zs sound card, and bought Cakewalk Music Creator 2003. The soundcard also came with Creative software (media player). My CD burner is from Iomega, and came with Hot Burn software. I have managed to record one album, one track at a time, using the Creative Media software, and burned it onto a CD.
However, I really prefer the Cakewalk program, and I had it working, I thought. But after playing around to figure things out, I somehow messed something up and now it will only record about a minute of sound, then it stops recording. Also, sometimes it will shut down because the sound overloaded (into the red too much, I think), but not always. Sometimes I will play a section of a recording and it will shut down, and the next time it will go right past the same spot with no problem!
I have to say that I am very disapointed with the users manual and the web site on both Cakewalk and Soundblaster. Not much basic info, very difficult navigation, and the links I really need are in Javascript and tend to lead me into Javascript error hell. And I really don't like the fact that whenever I go to the help file on the computer it tries to open an internet connection, and has to be closed three or four times before it will actually close.
Well, now that's off my chest, can anyone help me out with the recording length problem? I think I can manage to muddle through if I can actually get something recorded.

Not familiar with Music Creator... but 1 thought... Do you think it could be related to space? How much free space on your drive?

Have you changed the driver some how? Perhaps set the latency to low?
