newbie problems with Aleisis multimix 16USB

Hey guys,

Im recording my drum covers on youtube.com/lukebolger101

I bought a aleisis multimix 16 usb (1.1 stereo)

and it came with cubase -

I followed all the setup guides in the PDF on aleisis homepage to a tea and basically

In cubase I go to devices and click on device setup and select my mixer -

just like the manual says -

But on cubase I can not record - I make a track, press record and nothing is getting from the mixer to my PC - odly enough I can hear thru the headphones on the mixer any file I bring into cubase so there is a connection. I can play MP3s in cubase and hear them on the mixer, just doesn't record...

How did I get the sound for my videos? I used audacity - I go to device setup on audacity and select my mixer but it says its only in MONO..,.


So Im basically getting MONO instead of stereo which SUCKS...
Any ideas??

in cubase, you have to arm the tracks before you record.
if you dont know how to arm a track then look at the picture:

do you see the red button on channel 4(Guitar02_07)? turn that on and then hit record.

tracks are armed already

I when I play sound through the mixer and listen through the headphones on "solo" I can hear it in my headphones so I know the sound is coming into the mixer


But the level light on the cubase control panel at the bottom never lights up at all.

If I unplug the mixer it switches to my laptop mic and that works fine

are your inputs set up correctly on VST connections? push F4 when in Cubase and see, if inputs(device port) and audio device are correct.
