Ok, I've been at this for months and I still can't get things to work correctly. I am running Pro Audio 9 with a Roland XP-30.

Could someone please explane to me, in easy terms, how to get everything set up correctly. Here is how I have things set up and the issues I am having.

The synth is set on Local off, Remote off, and the control channel is set on 16. Power up mode is set as Last-Set

I have set up the instrument definition from Lil Chips for the XP-30 as the directions showed.

When I start to record a song, everything seems to work fine (As long as I turn the Echo off in Cakewalk)

After I shut things down and then return, the song doesn't play with the same patches. When I look at the settings on the synth, some of the channels are set up incorrectly (sending to channel 1) or receiving incorrectly.

This happens everytime I shut down and start back up. I have checked the battery on the synth and there is no problem there.

Is there anything in cakewalk that could be causing this? Can anyone help??????

Thanks in advance

cpos - open up the sysx view window when you have all the sounds set on your keyboard. Then hit the Red load bank arrow and the programme will send a sysx message to tell the keyboard to download its bank settings into cakewalk. If you then select the auto setting and save the song when you load the song cakewalk will send a message to the keyboard to setup the same settings you saved.

BTW make sure you have record sysex selected in your Global midi settings. :)

cheers
