undefinedHi everyone.,,,, H E L P ...

I did a really stupid thing. I mistakenly DELETED my entire cakewalk folder ( complete with tons of audio included ... duhhhhh ). When it happened... I got a message stating that it was too large for the recycle bin and did I want to "PERMANANTLY" delete the folder.. I of course said.. "Yes"... Bye Bye Cakewalk and 3 years of work !!!!
I purchased a couple of file retreival programs and I got back a lot of the the .wrk files but no audio. I've still got all the .wov files in the picture cache but I can't access the audio files by trying to play those. Any suggestions how to get back my audio ???

Thanks to all in advance for your efforts....

This would be a good time to use all of the bundle files you've burned on CD-R for backup purposes.

Sonar 2.2 and up have "per project" audio folders that store all of the wave files right in the project's folder along with the wrk files for that project, keeping all of the audio files out of the main audio data folder, making it easier to backup by just copying a project's folder to CD-R or a seperate hard drive, this is better than bundle files, IMO.

I would'nt write anything to the drive, you may overwrite some of the "lost" audio files.

Professional help might be your best bet, Good Luck!!!

Man, that sucks big time! I don't think I can help that much, but I do wish you get your data back as soon as posible, as cheap as posible... :(

Yes, listen to the advice above - DO NOT READ OR WRITE TO THE DRIVE IN QUESTION. Look for a good data recovery package. PM me if you want a recommendation.

I have used a couple of packages with success, so it can be done. A warning up front though - this software is not cheap, but it is much less than it would cost you to take the drive to a data recovery shop.
