Newbie getting feet wet with PC recording

Digidesign Mbox and a pair of MXL 990/991

Wanted to start with recording acoustic guitar and occassional vocals. Have started reading and learning a few stuff.

From my budget viewpoint, I would like to get started with an Digidesign MBox and a pair of MXL 990/991.

I want to develop my talent more as an acoustic guitarist by recording and hearing myself as well as sharing my work with this forum et al.,

Would the device/s I have mentioned a good place to start????

The PC I own is an IBM ThinkPad T40 = P4 (1.7 GHz), 1 GB RAM, 40 GB Hard drive.

It's a great start man! Are you using Pro Tools though? If not, I would get a different interface with lots more inputs and outputs.

I think the MBox is bundled with the Power Tools LE 6.7. Isn't it?
