Hey guys....

haven't been around much lately. Just moved and I have no internet...(or phone....or TV).....

So I'm uploading this from work, but can't spend much time here, which is why I apologise for not listening and commenting on other people's stuff here for a while.

Anyway...This is the first song I did in the new house. I'm recording in a small 11'X14' room with a 7' ceiling. But I think I treated it pretty good and hope I'm getting a good drum sound out of it.

Let me know of any issues in this tune....Vocals too low/loud??? Solo too low/loud....etc....

EDIT: I'm not able to post a download link for some reason. Here's the link to the page that has the song on it. You'll have to TURN OFF THE AUTOMATIC MUSIC PLAYER THAT WILL COME ON RIGHT AWAY...iT'S NOT THE SONG i'M TRYING TO POST. Then scroll down to the Music Player on the page and click on it. The song "NEW WORLD DISORDER" should play.

Sorry about the hassle, I probably shouldn't have posted this until I was all hooked up on the internet at home.

He can't hear you queepy. Remember, no internet. I'm looking forward to hearing it, too, but we have to wait until he goes back to work.

Let me share some "internet issues" too...As I don´t have internet in my control room I download the songs to listen there.For some reason I cannot do that with this song (altough I´m seeing the download button).

Hope I can download to listen on better condictions.
If not,even listening on "ultra crappy tinny" speakers, sounds fucking damn good,nice composition and performance!

Good drum sound - plenty of tight bottom end.
Mate, you've adapted to slide extremely well - bastard!
Great bass tone as usual.
Lots of guitar texture too.
Vox may be a tiny bit too loud for my tastes - they are, however, clear, well rounded and terrific harmonies/chorusing.
Driving, slightly funky rhythm - another RAMasterpiece.
Not real pickin' from my nits.
 
First of all, great song, RAMI. Really liked the slide, but I wouldn't open the song with in in solo. Great how you harmonize the notes with it and love the bass. Don't hate me if I say I lost the kick. Not the thick bottom of "Cynical" or "Too Pretty."

Did you mic the kick. I can't believe I'm asking a master drummer if he mic'd the kick.:eek:

Don't hate me, man. Love the song and the room seems great for the most part.:D
 
The slide is way cool and the bass line on top is awesome. Great rocker right down my alley. Sounds just about right for the style. Good stuff.
 
Cool slide work - you're really getting quite tasty. Syncing it with other instruments works well also. The mix is good on this one, no nits from me. Ray's comments probably say it best.... Sounds like your new room is working out well...:cool:


Is there any way to load the song when you open the page? I opened the site a few times and got different songs playing. You need to find the player, pause the player, then >> fast forward until you find the song. You also need to remember the name of the song you're looking for....;) just a convenience thing.
 
Sounds pretty good.

My only complaint is that the ride cymbal is panned really far left. Everything sounds fine until suddenly It feels like the drummer has rushed up and started playing one cymbal right next to my head! :D

Guys!!! Thanx alot for the comments. Steve, I'll look into my micing set up, I didn't realise the ride was so panned.

Ido, I know it's complicated to get to the tune. I have to send a HELP request to my web host to ask them why the download isn't working.

But it shouldn't be that hard. Just turn off the site-wide music player in the bottom left of the page, and then click on the MUSIC PLAYER THAT's ON THE PAGE in the link, and it should be the first tune that plays.

I'll be back online tomorrow.

Sorry I didn't respond to this sooner, Mr. Wig. I was thinking about what you said. I can see what you're saying about the slide intro. It seems to work differently when the whole band is in, but might sound too Southern Rock-ish in the intro, which the rest of the song isn't.

As far as the bass drum, I'll have to get other people's opinions on that and get a concensus. I hear it pretty well, but who knows.

You have a great sound. Very full--very strong--very hot (in technical terms).

You can definitely tell you're not using a crappy computer and cheap software like I.....uh.....a friend of mine uses. :o
 
Cool song Rami. Cool arrangement with the slide and rhythms complementing eachother. Drums sound fine to me. Kick sounds fine. Just right. Vocals sound fantastic.

My only nit is with the rhythm guitars. They're a little loud and there seems to be some slight low-mid-ish boxiness that's masking the low end of the bass guitar a little in some spots. Other than that, it's another fine tune from the Ramrod! :D
 
Oh yeah I`m feeling this.

I love the sound of the slide, you kick ass on slide.
If I`m not mistaken you just took that up, and your progress is amazing.

The song is well arranged and I dig the grove, its trippy prog at times:cool:

I think the vox need to come up a few db`s.

I'll re-mix this for sure, based on the great comments I got. I'd have no problem taking out more lo-mids from the guitars. I might not be 100% comfortable listening in the new room, so I appreciate any advice I get on what I might not have heard.

Yeah, I'm getting into playing slide...I keep it pretty simple, but I like the fact that, when you're fucking around on slide, you come up with riffs you never would have played otherwise. Thanx for the encouragement on that, I know I have a looooong way to go.....:)
 
I just realised what IDO was talking about....I gave the link to my home page, not the FREE MUSIC page, like I thought. Sorry about that.

I'm having trouble with my site. I should probably close this thread until I get internet at home and solve these problems. It's too many steps to find the tune at this point. I can't even download it myself right now. If I could, I'd put it up on www.lightning.com.

I just clicked your link, and then hit the "next" button in your little player at the bottom of your page until the song came on.

I managed to un-shuffle my player so that the tune is always the first one.
 
Hey! Sounds good as usual.

The only weird thing is when I sit in the mix position, the drums seem a bit distant (not a lot, just a bit). However, if I step into the next room and listen from there, they sound huge! Not sure why that is, but they sound amazing when i stand in the next room.
