new userfrom old school

I just recently purchased Home studio 2002 and I am in the learning stages of the PC recording. I am a musician from the old school who used tape for recording. I have been out of the music scene now for years and just getting back into it. I was wanting to do some simple recording and thought I would give this a try.
I am in the process of just getting to connecting my keyboard to the computer and havent gotten any farther. I am using a GeneralMusic PS1000 and using windowsxp and I have the soundblaster live sound card. Could I have information of the begining process of connecting to PC. what needed cables other accesories, etc. Keep in mind nothing fancy , just the basics. I havent installed the ssoftware yet. Thanks for all your help. It is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the world of PC recording. The concept is really not much different than tape based, in fact most recording software is setup to look like a tape recording studio (mixer).
You will need a MIDI cable that attaches to the keyboard MIDI Out port (usually 5 pin) and connects to the MIDI "game" port on the SBLive card. You can set up your MIDI In/Out settings in Home Studio.
