Hello and thanks for reading

I am new to the whole home recording stuff. Some of the gear that i have bought is the MXL v63m, Lexicon Alpha Pre-Amp, and Nady SMPS-1X (For Phantom Power) (XLR Cables were also bought)

I am really looking for a microphone stand and pop filter or windscreen for my microphone. If anyone could help me, give me some tips on where to put my microphone or such.

Going to be wanting to play guitar, and such

Thanks for reading or helping

Chris

Get something sturdy if your going to be using it with a relatively heavy mic is my advice. The last thing you want is for it to topple the stand. For a pop filter I use a twin sided nylon one.

Be sure and find one that has a telescopic arm not the 3-4 foot boom arm that sticks way out in the backside. ;)

I would only use a K&M stand - they are well made and last forever.

For a pop filter I use the Håkan P110 Pop Killer - this has open cell foam and doesn't colour the sound.

From what I've seen at least some of the K&M's look very similar to the Tama

Looks different to me - but people have been copying the looks of the K&M for years as they are the definitive industry standard.

I still have my old K&M 200 stand that I bought second-hand back in the early 1980's.
