You're a really good guitar player.

Mix sounds shallow, but I can't pin down anything that's wrong with it. Maybe a bigger kick...I can hear the bass just fine, but I'm needing a kick to give the mix some more impact.

If those aren't real drums, you did a really nice job making them sound real.

Thanks Chris - I'll revisit the drums. They are loops. Maybe a little compression would bring out the kick more? I'll experiment.

Thanks for listening.

Sounds very good.

I like the vocals a lot. The guitar tones are excellent. The bass is probably appropriate for this, but I would like to hear it with more 'attack'--a little less 'pillowy'. And it seems the drums are just a little too quiet in this mix. (At least that's how I hear it, on headphones.)

Good, solid song.

Good song. Very expressive vocal and arrangement. Beautiful gtr line at 2:13. Why didn't you do more of that in it? :p

I agree with both previous comments about the low end. Sounds to me like the low end is too compressed/restrained. It'd be good to hear more low end impact and definition.

Cool guys - thanks a lot. I shall revisit the bass sound.

Cheers!

Nice job on the vocals......More beef on the drums would probably help. Maybe some creative eq could bring the kick out some more. Nice guitar playing...tone reminds me a bit of Trower in this setting.

Me likey... :D

Pretty cool. I agree with the comments about the low end. Seems like the bass and kick need some more mids.

The drums seem like they are the widest thing in the mix which sounds a little wierd to me. Nobody likes my panning so I'm probably not one to judge :D

This definitely goes into my HR musicians collection....!

Hot Damn !!! Some kick ass Santana flavoured geetar.....shiiiiiiiat....good stuff.

I love the vox and the backup with it...perfect! The tone of your voice...(that your voice ESP?)....is awesome.

At first listen, I thought the tone of the bass, a bit too gentle...but...upon a few more listens...(like 8...make that 10 now :D )...my ears are saying, leave the bass as is and let the song takes it's course for what it is. I like the bassline with it's easy drive, being the perfect foundation for, letting the kick butt guitar and awesome vox be the frontmen of the tune.

I feel the same about the drums...staying where they are. The snare has a great tone to it and the although the kick is not out there, it stills works for the song.

I like the cymbals. They seem to be perfectly placed and volumed.

I do however, think you could/should raise the volume some on the lead dirty axe solos though, especially in the not so dirty parts...then again.

I think the song kicks butt as is.

True :)

EDIT:Those drum loops kick butt...I thought you were playing, until I just now started reading through the comments made on the thread.

Thanks so much friends. Yes True - that's me singing - I NEVER in a million years thought anyone would actually like my singing - I guess I'm improving some - thankfully - because I often get very discouraged about singing. This gives me inspiration/ confidence to keep working on it.

Glad you like the geetar - Santana is certainly who I'm paying homage to there.

Thanks a lot for listening and your comments.

Put a low pass filter on the bass, set it at 60hz. Boost a couple dB at 3000hz, and bring the volume of it down about 3 dB. See what that does for your "pillowy" bass... :D

I loved the track, btw...

Nice job skully, fine playing!

I agree that the drums are a bit too low and a more agressive bass would be nice too.

Very Cool! Not much to say bad.
Ditto on the drums. They're not bad though. sort of fit's the tune.

F.S.

Santana indeed, nice playing.

No offense intended to either party but does anyone else hear a little of RAMI in the vocals?

great job ~

Thanks people. So you think the drums could come up in the mix? I wonder what I could do to bring the kick out more - it's a stereo drum track. Any suggestions?

I'll try the low pass filter on the bass.

Thanks again guys.
