hi everyone,
please check out my new site and my newest tune called "in the shadows".
please let me know what you think about all the other songs as well.
THANK YOU!!!!!!

Stop smokin' all that spacedye and tell the folks where that new site is! It ain't SPAM to simply put the URL in the post in this Forum.

Easy enough advice. Don't clip the fuck out of your tracks. You've got plenty of loudness. Back off a dB and I think you'll be in the ballpark. Maybe two or three. Look at the waveform, eh?

Your stuff has a singular sound that's worth pursuing.

Cool song...the clipping kind of ruined it for me though. I am sitting here jamming a lead over the groove. It sounds cool, I dig it. Are playing the bass and drums as well?

What are you using to get your distortion sound? Its a little to over the top. I would put some mids back in it.....give it a little more puch.......Sounds cool.

Stir is trippy!!!!!! Movie soundtrack written all over it.

thanks!!

in the shadows, i used drag and drop drummer. but i did play a real bass on the song. for distorion, i used my old rocktron progap pre-amp. i used to be in a death metal band so i needed a stupid distortion. i obviously never changed that. but there is also clean guitar under that. i think ive gotten over recording everything super-hot now. so , my next tune should be ok.
but thanks for the compliments.

you know what gargamel, why dont you record your solo over it, and repost the song so i can hear it. id love to hear what you would add.

Cool stuff, spacedye! We've got a similar setup (SonarXL and BOSS DR660), so it's interesting to hear what you're doing with it. I've never used the drag-and-drop drummer stuff (though I've heard some good things). How's it work?

Anyway, to the issue at hand, I'd agree that the overall level seem to be a bit much, but I also agree that the tunes are really unique in their feel and sense of melody (hard to believe you were in a death metal band!?). I really liked 'forever at sea'...

In terms of level, I'd see if you can get your hands on mastering-type plug-in. We have the Waves Ultramaximizer and it's beautiful for getting the hottest possible level without clipping... And if you want to switch up your heavy tone, I can't say enough good things about my POD 2.

Listening to "stir" now and loving the production tricks... Keep it up man!

Sorry, tried since you posted man, but iuma has either been 'down for maintenance' which I can understand, or the page times out before it gets to the mp3 links....

Any alternate location for these songs?

hey J,
1st, i replied to one of your posts in here and it ended up that you guys sent me your cd for 30SoS.....
i love your music!!!! thanks for the compliments on my music and the help. what is the Waves Ultramaximizer, is that something i can download? or is it a physical thing that i can have in my setup?
drag and drop drummer is part of the sonar xl deal that can be added on. its a bunch of WAV files on cd. all come in 1 measure. im not sure if im explaining this right because i dont know diddley about beats and measures, i only know what sounds good to me. anyway, different beats and fills are on the cd. they are all recorded at different tempos. you just have to match the tempo of the wav with the tempo of your song, click and drag and drop the wav file into the section of song. if your song is in 120 bpm, then find a beat on the cd that is 120 bpm and drag and drop it, then copy and paste the beat as many times as you like in the song.
very easy to work with, but the i find that i dont care for most of the beats on the cd.
keep in touch!!!!

Definately not a problem on my end, being a tech for 15 years will prove that :)

Anyways, it may be that their core router is out, and not allowing access from my end of town. I perused via. 5 different ISPs, 3 different operating systems, 4 different systems, and got the same results. Nobody in town right now is able to get to IUMA artist pages. From what I know, IUMA is getting ready to 100% consolidate with vitaminic, which means, soon, IUMA will go *poof* and you'll have to agree to vitaminics rules, so there is alot of issues going on right now, things not working, things screwing up...

I know you are on NoWhere space, since, well, I own it... Just wanted to hear your new tunes! Can you upload her there?

W.

consider it done!!!!! its uploading as i type this.
i didnt realize i was speaking with the head honcho for Nowhereradio over there. LOL!!
oh, and thanks for going to great lengths to try to listen!!!!

Hey, spacedye. Yeah, we remember you -- you had a very cool and unique comparison of our sound... Glad you like our stuff -- the feeling is definitely mutual!

The ultramaximizer is a downloadable plug-in, but unfortunately, it's far from free. I don't remember how much I dished out for it but I looked around and thought I saw it for around $300  I don't recall paying that much for it, so you may want to shop around for a deal. It's a very cool, effective plug-in if you can work it into your budget...

And drag and drop drummer sounds like a type of ACID-style loops. Cool idea, but probably wouldn't work for us since we try to program things as close to the way they would be played live...

Keep us posted on any new tunes...
