I see deaf people
Bit of a bouncer, doesnt really go anywhere, trying to get a new sound for an EP or the makings of another album....my guess is the mix is better than the composition

Called "Money makes the world go down"

Btw did i mention a new album? My first one just went on sale, grab it before they run out of downloads lol (shameless plug)

Edit: dialed down some of the drum compression, brought up the bass....

Error 403. It says I don't belong here (Geewiz, maybe I don't:D).

ach i think it was using my ipad to post this, some things it cant do for some reason, link should work now :)

Yep. Link works for me.

I like it; it is very bouncy. The big critique that sticks out to me is that there are a lot of clicks on the "I want my $2" sample at the beginning.

Yeah its a pretty old sample, i want sure whether to clean it up or leave it as it is, so i went with option two...ive bought some record decks to add some vinyl crackling, ill prolly end up cleaning the samples anyway

Thanks for listening mate, glad nothing else jumped out

This has some cool elements to it KC - I like the vocal samples that keep coming in at different points to maintain the interest. I also liked the overall skeletal, minimalist feel to the whole thing.

In terms of issues, the bass synth sounds a bit tepid for me - I wanted it to be rich and full, but it feels a little flat. The beat also feels too small - like it's all been compressed. If you can somehow address the dynamic range for these elements, I reckon you're good :)

Ok dude, ill see if i can gather any more comments then ill give it a revisit....i was thinking this mix was pretty close, i compress everything, i have liquid mix with 40 compressors and im damned sure im using them all lol

The whole tune has a kinda squashed sound, its meant to sound a bit like that but maybe too much??

Thanks for the listen and comments mate :)

Hey dood. I like that you have the new CD out (waiting patiently by mailbox) and already have new, really different material in the works. This of course sounds great, although maybe not as much to my liking as your last batch of stuff. Not sure this is a different, specific genre, or...?

I love the vocal samples and the way they're worked in throughout. All of the sounds are cool actually. Put together, it certainly is bouncy and a bit sparse in comparison.

When the bass synth and the sounds that I think are sort of taking the place of a snare and HH kick in together, it kind of has this pulsing, pumping quality to it that I take to be the effect of compression? I hear people in here saying occasionally of a mix, "man, that's really pumping", but honestly I rarely am able to hear that. I feel like I hear it here though. Maybe it's intentional (the product of the 40 compressors you mention ;)?) or I may be wrong, but it just seemed a bit odd to me after a few listens.

I hear what sounds like an 808 style kick in there somewhere with that cool but strange little electronic tail to it, and I wished that it was booming a little more to give this more thump to go along with the pulsing mids. Just some thoughts...really good though and I was glad to hear something new. Keep 'em coming :D!

yup its meant to have that sound like the bass is being sucked back in as it plays....the new sound isnt going to be one Im sticking with, I think I was getting onto to something with the darker stuff with a bit of guitar, I kinda liked that...its just that not much was uptempo

I have a video idea for this one, maybe in an entire package it might work better

Ill take a bit of compression off the drums and see if it opens the kick out more, Rob mentioned they were a bit strangled

Thanks Pete, please let me know what you think of the album when you get it...Ive submitted it to an online library to see if there is any interest too

Will do. My wife's step dad just gave me some big old polk audio speakers that I just hooked up today and they sound awesome. Can't wait to crank your CD through them.

Not sure what you mean by an online library? Do people go to a library looking for electronica?

Ah...ok, I sort of get it. So, filmakers or TV editors would go there looking for background music for whatever they're producing?

I know a guy who edits for AMC or Discovery Channel or something and he was talking about libraries like that...I remember asking him about me adding stuff to a library like that, and he was very politely evasive :p. I can hear it with your tracks though...there are so many different contexts where this could work.

Hey Keith. I finally got a chance to give this a listen and I think it sounds great. It had a lot going on to keep it interesting. I loved all the effects and stuff. It seems I always have to ask, but what is the opening vox sample saying.

I can't wait to hear more from you dude.

Have a good one. Great listening. :)
