Hey Steve,
I had to chime in on this one. First, excellent job. I love the song, arrangement and your vocalist is AAA+. Harmonies again excellent.

I have nothing bad to say about the song so here's my 2 cents worth of critique. I couldn't hear a bass line. Is there a bass in the mix? If not or if it's subdued, I would bring it out. The song cries for a nice deep solid bass line.

Second, same with the kick drum. A nice powerful steady kick to give a strong rythm/beat. I would also play with the snare, maybe some compression. I like the snare snap, but it is a little too much in front.

Perhaps a bit of stereo widening on the harmonies as well to give it a nice blend. Come to think of it, same thing with the guitars. spread the sound out.

Going back for another listen. Great job!

Wow, this is beautiful. I do hear the bass, seems at an appropriate level to me. The vocals are great, maybe a tad hot at times, but overall they sit well, riding on top of everything.

Is this a drum set you recorded? The drums sound so good.. the snare is nice and meaty, and the kick is nice.

I seem to like everything about this song. :)

This is a very good song. Very original high-pitched voice. Volume level of your snare is a little too loud making the rest seem a bit too far away (and I usually ;like the drums out in front...;)). I like its sound though. Nice work.

Sounds very good. The only thing that is bugging me is a strange percussion sound coming out of my right speaker. It's either a really splashy cymbal or a tambourine--I'm finding it a bit distracting.

All around very good though.

Kudos!

Yeah...about the snare. Too frontly, I agree. I Think there's a couple things you could do to get the vox to stand out ...I'm not sure widening is the answer: they're already panned way out.

But what I'd try is applying a volume envelope and boosting the hard consonants at the beginning of some of the words.....it's hard to catch the sung words sometimes because I can't head the beginning consonants....lots of sound and the level is good....just a little hard to understand sometimes...not a good dose of consonant punctuation. A lot of work, especially with 3? vox....but the performance is worth the effort!

One of the other things I think would make the vox shine is a healthy dose of verb and , especially, delay. Not sure, but I'd try it...like a matched stereo, one repeat, one beat's worth... maybe a half on one side, or a couple MS's worth of difference to define space...vox only.

Sounds like the best of the genre I've caught live. Rockin', smart arrangement.

sound great to me...maybe a little busy at times...but I liked it..the guys are right the snare is a bit too loud...but the bass sounded fine on my modest set up..

nice vocs and tight performance

nice one
