Hi All,

I have recently bought a Roland TD6-KV Drum Kit, and Im working through all the info for the Brain etc, what is bugging me is that Im playing along to Midi Files or MP3 Tracks.

How do I alter the level of the Volume of the Midi/MP3 and the Drum Kit so they are balanced ?

One or the the other is either higher or lower and and its difficult to play.

i dont know this unit , no chance to check it out. but assuming you have the drum kit then the computer or some other seperate device playing back the mp3 or midi file. you could get a cheap line mixer and plug the output of the sound card stereo line out into it , then plug the output of the roland drum brain into it (i assume it has a stereo out) - and plug hphones into the line mixer and mix the two using the line mixers pan and volume controls.

also - i dont know if this might help in the future but check out powertracks from pgmusic sometime. you can use it to record midi tracks of your drum playing. and do even drum over dubs. and it includes song styles and a drum pattern maker. you can edit a srum track once recorded and do lots of other neat stuff like record a drum track, duplicate it , have it play the drum track back in different tunings or even make the drum track sound like another instrument. a member of my family was a hot drummer in jazz bands years ago and had a collection of records with just drums on. one of the things you could is record one of those for example into powertracks on the pc then play against it and/or manioulate it or build loops or whatever.
just some ideas.
