Unfortunately, I have no kind words about your production. Highly amateurish and oversimplified. Unless that is what you were going for you have quite a long way to go. The song is lackluster with a boring bassline and a mechanical sounding drum machine pattern. And overall, lacks energy and has little to no appeal. But if you practice and listen to commercial artist for comparison may improve. Peace.

well it isnt a final production by all means, it is more so parts of a song which i want to improve on, i understand there is a lot that needs to be done, so i mean any sort of direction would be cool

ive been playing around of fruity loops for a little but, i got reason 4 but im waiting on a midi keyboard so ive just been kinda messing around

this is what ive got, its not really finished just an idea of a whole song i would say, im open for all feedback

First and formost, welcome.

Secondly, I peeped it. the kick needs more beef to it. I think the snare/clap's reverb has too much of a delay or room size is too large, it almost sounds "Tinny".

Starts out pretty sweet, not my style of music so it's hard to critique which way you were going with it. But, the snare/clap is offbeat on like every 4 bars I believe. But for just playin' aroun, it's pretty sic for sure.

Repetitive nature of it kinda bothers me, but I can't speak much about it, mines repetitive too!

Keep up the good work,

P.S. - Get a soundclick.

Welcome!

Good start since your new to reason I'm sure this was one of those right out the box deals. As you learn more about all the tools your music will reflect that as well. I learned reason from a website called grooveboxmusic.com. Dr Rex is a life saver for drums it allows you to take scrap beats and form them to any tempo. We are all learning so just keep moving forward.

this is where you're gonna start seeing how awesome producers like timbaland and dre are. i'm sure you were looking for commentary from a punk songwriter who used to dj raves...ha...you need some raps with lush vocal production over this right here.. the claps are tight. i can picture this coming out of my car's system easily - that's often my litmus test for anything that comes out of reason...the kick does need some kind of more beef - and sometimes it appears to be clipping or something at least in parts from where i'm listening. this reminds me of too short's first or second record...

definitely get a nice controller keyboard for reason like the axiom or that akai mpk49.... I've done little dj shows/parties with reason basically just dj'ing my various riffs and beats and crap live - it becomes an instrument and less of a programming endeavor
