Hello, so I am new to this.. Was actually referred to this website by the president of the museum of magnetic sound in Austin, TX.
Yesterday I picked up a Magnasync/ moviola telephone recorder. It weighs about 300 lbs, everything works, has tapes, it's in great condition. I was told it's from the 70's. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little bit more about it and what it would be worth and how to go about it. If you could please let me know that would be awesome! Thank you!

Pose this question in the Analog forum, someone will probably have the answer for you. See if you can find a model number on it, that will help. Many times a "telephone" recorder is used to (obviously) record telephone conversations. But because phone have diddly for frequency response the recorders run at an agonizing 15/16"/sec. This is worthless for audio recording UNLESS you are looking for that Lo-Fi sound. It may be that the machine you mention can run at other speeds. A lot of these are multitrack so economize the use of tape.
