Hello. I'm new to home recording and trying to organize my gear. Does anyone have suggestions on how to best utilize a patch bay? I get the concept but am having trouble determining the best way to run gear through my patch bay. Normalled,half normalled etc etc. I'll be using a 2 channel compressor, 2channel eq, several effects including an old Yamaha spx90, POD XT, drum machine and assorted microphones. I'll be recording on a Fostex VF160EX with 2 inserts.

Taking the slow road
i love the patch bay, it really helps out, i got unbalanced tho, so it takes up a lot of patch cables and ports, some are normalled, some are half, some are open, i even use it with my stereo, and combined it with a cheap cheap 16 channel line mixer - 8 stereo actually, both are Berry and still work!
